We exist to equip its churches in fullfilling the Great Commission by offering support and resources for worship, dicipleship, fellowship, ministry, and evangelism.
Project MARTUSProject MARTUS (pronounced mar'-toos) is an initiative of the churches of the Hebron Baptist Association to reach the over 35,000 unchurched lost people in our associational area with the Gospel. the name for this project comes from Acts 1:8: ...And you shall be my witnesses (martus) in Jerusalem... The greek word for witness in this verse is "martus."
The Project involves two aspects:
This is not a solicitation by the Association for donations. This is God's people in God's churches calling upon God to provide $60,000 by His means. God may choose to impress upon individuals to give to this effort. God may choose to impress churches to give to this effort. If God impresses upon you to give, we ask that you be obedient.
We should pray like Elijah, "Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God and that You have turned their hearts... to You. (1 Kings 18:37, NKJV)
Pray as a church and individually:
Why would we attempt this?
Begin praying now for God to provide the money for Project MARTUS by January 1, 2011. If you have questions or god has impressed you to give, please contact us at 706-245-5853 or email at hebron_baptist@bellsouth.net. |
