We exist to equip its churches in fullfilling the Great Commission by offering support and resources for worship, dicipleship, fellowship, ministry, and evangelism.

Project MARTUS

Project MARTUS (pronounced mar'-toos) is an initiative of the churches of the Hebron Baptist Association to reach the over 35,000 unchurched lost people in our associational area with the Gospel. the name for this project comes from Acts 1:8: ...And you shall be my witnesses (martus) in Jerusalem... The greek word for witness in this verse is "martus."
The Project involves two aspects:
  1. Praying and asking God for $60,000
  2. Dividing the money equally among the six districts of the Association and representatives of the churches in those districts will devise an evangelistic plan or plans to reach people in their district.
This is not a solicitation by the Association for donations. This is God's people in God's churches calling upon God to provide $60,000 by His means. God may choose to impress upon individuals to give to this effort. God may choose to impress churches to give to this effort. If God impresses upon you to give, we ask that you be obedient.
We should pray like Elijah, "Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God and that You have turned their hearts... to You. (1 Kings 18:37, NKJV)
Pray as a church and individually:
  • That God provides $60,000 and we will glorify Him.
  • That God will dirct the paths of the churches in evangelism and discipleship
  • That people who do not know Jesus will see the truth and come to know Him.
Why would we attempt this?
  • God has impressed this upon us and we believe that it is His direction
  • The benefit to the Kingdom of God
  • Increase faith, baptisms, church attendance4 and church health
  • Encourage pastors and congregations
  • Increase the cooperative efforts of Hebron Association churches
Begin praying now for God to provide the money for Project MARTUS by January 1, 2011. If you have questions or god has impressed you to give, please contact us at 706-245-5853 or email at hebron_baptist@bellsouth.net.
